Thomas Johnson for north carolina’s families

Our Common Cause is to strive to make North Carolina the best place for families, business and our brightest hopes!

Mr. Thomas Lee Johnson (TLJ) TLJ is one of North Carolina’s finest—disciplined, visionary, and grounded in real-world results. A decorated Air Force veteran, foster-care survivor, and CIA Fellow, TLJ brings the grit of lived experience to every boardroom, classroom, and battlefield of ideas. He’s not just talking about transformation—he’s led it in the private sector, in government, and in the hearts of people across this state. As the founder of Agile Immersive, TLJ built a multimillion-dollar consulting firm from the ground up, trusted by household names like T-Mobile, MetLife, and FedEx. His strategies on cultural change and organizational grit aren’t just theories—they’re tools that Fortune 500 CEOs put to work. Global thinkers know his name. He’s lectured on cultural transformation at Goethe Business School in Frankfurt and advised leaders navigating complex change across borders and sectors. TLJ never forgets his humble beginnings. TLJ was adopted out of foster care at age 5, and now works with Agape of North Carolina to strengthen foster care in all 100 counties of North Carolina. He leads with heart—never forgetting where he came from. In service to his country, TLJ built next-generation intelligence satellites at the National Reconnaissance Office, and authored early research forecasting the commercial space revolution—two decades before SpaceX or Blue Origin proved him right. He survived 9/11 at the Pentagon by minutes, and went on to serve in leadership roles at Lockheed Martin, Capital One, and Accenture. He’s also a creative force—an award-winning screenwriter and actor, with credits on HBO and Discovery Channel, and a winner of the Frank Silvestra Award for his screenplay Albert & Paul. His annual “007 Rally” fundraiser channels adrenaline into action, raising support for the CIA Officers Memorial Foundation.
